The most exciting situations occur whenever a CT is the last man alive and somehow manages to defuse the bomb with very little time remaining.Īfter 4 years, Valve, with the assistance of Turtle Rock Studios, released Counter Strike: Condition Zero. While visually identical to the original CS (which was already starting to age by that time), it included new player models, maps, and, uniquely, and single player campaign. The CTs are supposed to prevent the bomb from being planted, or defuse it. The Terrorist’s objective is to plant a bomb at one of two bomb-sites, A or B, and protect it until it successfully detonates after 40 seconds. The last, and most iconic game-mode, is Bomb Defusal. One CT is designated the VIP, and he must be escorted to a place on the map without being killed by the Terrorists. In earlier games, players would actually have the hostages follow them to the rescue zone, which allowed several hostages to be rescued at once. CTs are supposed to infiltrate a defensively oriented map and rescue at least one hostage or kill all of the Terrorists. There are several major game-modes in CS. If a player is killed in the round, they must spectate for the rest of it, which promotes tactical, thoughtful gameplay. After freeze time, both teams set off to complete an objective. Each round begins with 5-15 seconds of freeze time, were players are given the opportunity to buy various weapons, equipment, grenades, and ammunition. The two teams spawn at opposite ends of the map.
